Ultimate respect (!) conferred to the womankind!!!
One of the strongly objectionable points in the Gita is the reckless use of the Sanskrit word, ‘Yoni’. The word ‘Yoni’ in Sanskrit language means, ‘the female genital organ.’ Please go through some of the quotations that use this word with ease.
Gita 9:32 “O son of Partha, those who take shelter in me, though they be born of a ‘sinful Yoni’ – women, Vaishyas (the merchant caste) and Sudras (the slave caste) can attain the supreme destination. ”
How conveniently has Krishna given a Character Certificate to millions of women! ‘All the mothers of the Vaisyas, Sudras and the women’ are given a certificate ‘Paapa Yoni’ meaning ‘a sinful _ _ _ _ _ _’ (We are sorry. We can’t type that word here.)
In our opinion, even if a man were to take rebirth, more so a sinner – a lower one, yet, in what way does it certify his mother’s character? Is it not possible that a sinner be born to a saintly mother and a saint be born to a sinful mother? A sweeping statement covering two of the four castes is really, really unfair. Further, the same verse has included another category, the women! Even the women are born into a ‘sinful Yoni’! ridiculous!!! Almost half the human population is female. A very small percentage of them give birth to a ‘sons only’ series. This statement about women includes the Brahmin women and the Kshatriya women also!
A classic example of male chauvinism and racism this:
And at many other places like, Gita 13:21, Gita 16: 19 –20 etc. do we find a reference to the word ‘YONI’.
God, the originator of racism!!!
The followers of the other Religions will be surprised to see this. Because, they are habited to hear that God is against discriminating any man on the grounds of lineage. Then, how can god be the originator of racism? Please read what Krishna has to say about the heinous caste system…
Gita 4:13 says, “The four castes were emanated by me, by the different distribution of qualities and actions…” This statement is the kingpin of the Hindu caste system. Now nobody who, believes in the Gita as a word of god can ever come out with the fancy idea, ‘castes are man made’. He has to admit that the castes are determined by god hence, they are inviolable.
Further, it is mentioned in Gita 18: 41-44,
“Of Brahmanas, Kshatriyas, Vaishyas and the Sudras, O Parantapa, the Duties have been distributed according to the qualities born of their own natures. Serenity, Self-restraint, austerity, purity, forgiveness and also uprightness, wisdom, knowledge, belief in God, are the Brahmana Duty born of his own nature. Prowess, splendor, firmness, desterity and also not flying from battle, generosity, the nature of a ruler, are the Kshattriya duty, born of his own nature. Ploughing, protection of kin, and trade are the Vaishya duty, born of his own nature. Action of the nature of service is the Shudra duty, born of his own nature.”
The famous “Annie Besant” the celebrated saint of the Hindu community has mentioned in the foot note of her translation of ‘The Bhagavad Gita’ that, Duty is the action arising from the nature fashioned by Past thoughts and desires. That means, the thoughts and desires of the previous life have dictated you nature in this life and the nature has dictated in which family shall you take birth. That means, this life is awarded to you as a reward for the previous life. But, she never questioned the legitimacy of the saint whom she was following. Swamy Vivekananda himself was born in a Backward Class family. How did she accept him as her spiritual teacher and how did she convert to Hinduism?
However, it is very clear that the Gita resorts to foul play by legitimizing the caste system.
